This workshop is for beginner to advanced painters. Nyle will begin the evening with a short demonstration, and discussion. Demonstration and instruction will be in oil. The remainder of the evening will be spent making rounds instructing individual painters. We will be covering the basics of composition, value, color and edges, as it applies to night painting. Questions and discussion are encouraged. Nyle has a casual and inclusive approach to teaching that puts students at ease. In addition to plein air materials, clip on lights will be needed to for night time illumination of palette and canvas. Class size will be limited to eight students.

Materials list:

*Sketching materials as desired by the student

*Easel and palette suitable for outdoor painting

*clip on lights for nighttime illumination

*8x10, 11x14, or 12x16 canvas recommended 

*Brushes-a variety of sizes of flat, round, and filbert style (bring what you have)

*Palette knife

*Minimum color palette:

Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Ochre Cadmium Red Light, Alizarine crimson,Ultramarine Blue, Thalo Blue, Viridian Green, Titanium White, Ivory Black. (other colors are optional and might come in handy)

*Paper towels or rags and a container to throw them into.

*odorless paint thinner and a small container for it

*Other optional useful supplies:

  oil painting medium

  lotion/wet wipes for clean up
